Services at a Glance
The Miami County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental
Disabilities (Riverside of Miami County) administers a menu of programs designed
to meet the needs of our consumers and their families whether in the community,
in the home or at board operated facilities.
Our goal is consistent with our mission... to empower children and adults
with developmental disabilities to live, work and play as full members of the
Miami County community. In that regard, we have developed a
person-centered approach to assist our consumers and families in receiving
needed services and supports.
Administration
Miami County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities
services are provided with a total-quality approach to staffing, planning and
service delivery. A seven member appointed Board oversees policy-making.
The Superintendent is the head of Administration and is supported by department
directors.
Fiscal accountability and regular public information and community outreach
efforts are functions of Administration as well as human resources and
facilities. Safe and reliable transportation is offered to and from our
buildings to individuals enrolled in the Miami County Board of Mental
Retardation and Developmental Disabilities programs. All drivers are
required to complete rigorous training, and Transportation travels over 150,000
